   News
Since the early 1950s, tall communications towers have been known to be a source of mortality for birds, especially night-migrating songbirds.

Conservationists estimate that more than 4 million migrating birds are killed each year in tower collisions nationwide.

Stop Tower Kills!

It is widely agreed that the taller a communication tower the more deadly it is for night-migrating songbirds.

The large mortality at these towers was chiefly attributed to collisions with the many relatively invisible guy wires used to support the towers.

Birds die when they collide with towers, their guy wires and related structures, and the ground.
